Masane Amaha , transformed with the Witchblade , controlled by bloodthirst and desire to fight .
Synopsis25-Years Old Masane Amaha with her "daughter" , Rihoko , moved to Tokyo to live there and start a new life . Apparently , Masane was one of the survivors of a catastrophe that occured in Tokyo 6 years ago ( the time span in anime) , which the spot was called the 'Null Point ' . She also lost all of her past memories , but she gained a new identity made from maternity passbook , which she was carrying at the time of the catastrophe , along with her newborn "daughter" , Rihoko . Later , it was revealed that Masane survived because of Witchblade , an ultimate weapon that existed since a long time ago , which chose it's own wielder . Those who wield Witchblade would carried an unavoidable fate of battling many enemies . The wielder of the Witchblade could transform into a battle form , equipped with long blades and armor . Apparently , Witchblade was one of the properties owned by a big weapon company called 'Dohji' , but it was lost in the catastrophe 6 years ago . Therefore , Masane was forced to work there as the company found out that she wielded the Witchblade . After went through many complications between her , Rihoko and NSWF ( an organization made to protect and accommodate children , especially the orphans ) , she decided to work in Dohji to earn money for living with Rihoko . The work was to eliminate X-Cons , failed product of Dohji , shaped like machine but able to transform into human , with killing abilities . After that , many battle enfolded between Masane and the X-Cons , also with the NSWF's Neogene , mutated females that have abilities similar to Witchblade and also fight against the conspiracy plotted inside the Dohji Corp itself and the NSWF . Story continued with many conflicts , until Masane awakened the true power of Witchblade and the unexpected truths were revealed...
Strength : Complex story & plot , unexpected flow of story that lead to unexpected ending . The depiction of life shown contained a lot of moral messages and the values of life (especially relations between parents , mother and child ). Neat artwork of background , mechas and characters (starting from the mid-part, though).
Weakness : Too many slice of life , that some people might get boring while watching the anime . Very short span of time for the battles , also with only monotone slashing . Overall , this anime that has action genre doesn't fullfill the criteria of action , because the actions are almost zero .
Flaws on artwork on the first part of the anime , it was so lame in the beginning .
