Hairstyle and face (especially the eyes) : confirmed. Only difference in personality. If so, Touma would be best like Otonashi Yuzuru and Araragi Koyomi who always involved themselves in others' problems.

I've been wondering and now I see that their hairstyle and color almost look-alike. Even their white suit give them another point of similarities. They are different in occupation. Izzard is an alchemist while Kasal is a doctor.

I don't know why, but they're almost similar at first glance !! Their hairstyle and color and even the uniform complete with the inner T-shirt color they're wearing are almost the same !! Is there some agreement with Watsuki-sensei about this character Takashi ???

Not just their almost-the-same hairstyle, color, face and height, but they also have quite the same personality, that is acting childish, except the one at the right is not a child anymore...

Since the first time I watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, some things bug me. One of them is the similarities between the character Yoko and Rebecca, both having almost same hairstyle and hair color, not to mention that both like to dress themselves in an exposing way and use firearms as their weapons.

Hairstyle and hair color: confirmed. Weapon is also sword, except Cassandra also uses shield. Both of them are warriors that are still related to European history. The only difference other than clothing is the bust size. Saber is flat while Cassandra's not.

Just find an interesting one here. When I saw Kurozuma in Railgun, suddenly I remember about someone, and that is this guy, Killer from Shadow Hearts From the New World. Not only their hairstyle and hair color that almost look similar, but they also wear black jacket, having fearful aura and charisma. Too add, both of them are expert in battle.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun is a spinoff of the series Toaru Majutsu no Index. 5 volumes of manga have been published by Dengeki Daioh, illustrated by Motoi Fukuyama.

Synopsis
This is Toaru Majutsu no Index's side story that took place in the same Academy City, except that the story tells about the life events of Misaka Mikoto and her friends before the events in the original novel happened. Misaka Mikoto, AKA the Railgun AKA the Ace of Tokiwadai facing conflicts that involved Academy City. With her friend in Judgment, Shirai Kuroko and her new 2 friends, Uiharu Kazari and Saten Ruiko, they often involved themselves in threats that endanger Academy City and its citizens. The story's mainly can be dissected into several parts that connect with each other:
1. Introduction and Daily life of Misaka Mikoto and her friends
2. Level Upper Arc
3. Skillout Arc
4. Poltergeist Arc

Strength:
Nice artwork and background as usual, never degrade a bit from its predecessor: Toaru Majutsu no Index. The graphic is always cool and the battles' becoming more thrilling this time (especially the last battle with the giant robot, it's like the transformers !, the depiction of high-tech vehicles , the use of theme song to enhance the effect ), giving more suspense to the story. Nice original idea, plot, and complications development (one conflict happens after another and well-planned), spicing up the story and giving more curiosity and interests to the audience, and the characters are well depicted here with each of their own personality. The addition of more espers and organizations also colors the anime even more.

Weakness:
May be boring in some part, especially the normal life dialogue, even not enhanced with potential comedy, unlike Index.

Misaka Mikoto's disappointment as Saten Ruiko got the last Gekota bonus strap from the crepes. She is lucky, because Ruiko gave it to her then. Mikoto's taste a bit childish and one of her favorite character that is emphasized in this anime is the frog Gekota.

Photo from the modelling event in the swimsuit company. Warm friendship of girls is nicely depicted here by cooking kare together, and of course, satisfying fans of these girls. I wonder how Misaka will react if she knew Touma saw her wearing childish swimsuit in the end of this episode.

Toaru Majutsu no Index's main character's reappearance, now with more details that he loves to stick his nose into others' problems. He was helping Kiyama Harumi, one of the scientists that made an experiment on crystallized espers essence and desperately wanted to revive the children she used as a guinea pigs back then. I wonder how Touma would solve Misaka's conflict if he was involved in the story. Looking forward to Touma-Misaka combination !

Toaru Majutsu no Index is originally a series of light novel written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Kiyotaka Haimura. The series is published by ASCII Media Works under Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga began serialization in May 2007.

Synopsis
The story took place in Academy City, a technologically advanced city located in western Tokyo, in which superhuman students are studied and reside there. Kamijyo Touma, a high-schooler in Academy City is a level 0 esper, meaning that he holds no esper power. He, however, possessed a mysterious power called Imagine Breaker in his right hand, a power that neglects all other powers with a touch. But, it doesn't neglect only espers and magic powers, but also his luck, resulting in him experiencing unfortunate events in his daily life. One day, he found a nun on his apartment's railing, starving. She turned out to be Index Librorum Prohibitum, a junior nun from English Purist Church, Necessarius. Despite her childish acts and high appetite, she got a hold of 103,000 forbidden magical books in her head, resulting from her ability of Perfect Memorization. Touma's encounter with Index was the beginning of another Touma's misfortune, as magicians from Necessarius was looking for Index to secure the 103,000 grimmoires. Together, they faced massive amount of battles and conflicts. When science and magic cross path, the tale begins !!

Strength:
Great original idea and basic concept of the story, and it is well refined by the story development that brings suspense to the audience. The unique thought of Touma and his ability of problem solving spice up the story and most of the battles, making it more interesting. Almost flawless artwork and very detailed, well-made background, perfectly depicting the Academy City. Nice battle depiction supported by the use of theme song, like in eps 23.

Weakness:
Some illogical scene like Touma's running almost too long to reach Index in only a small room, and Kanzaki spitting out the details of her origin while fighting against God-powered angel.

The first time Touma met with Index. Touma gave the starving Index a hotdog he tripped over and suddenly, Index chomped up all of them , including Touma's hand. After this too, Index's tendency to bite Touma has not going down, even increasing...

Touma's Oscar-winning acting. Even having his right arm cut off, he still managed to stay calm, and even turn his whole self into the "real Imagine Breaker" for his opponent. This scene made me think that every ordinary human has Imagine Breaker, the power to exceed one's imagination, going beyond. That's why Touma's only level 0, normal human.

Accelerator, the strongest level 5 esper of Academy City, with MISAKA Sister series 20,001, also known as Last Order. Accelerator's involved in Virus Code case involving Last Order and made the story become his for 2 episodes, making Touma grumble about his appearance.

Angel Beats ! is originally written by Jun Maeda. Synopsis
Otonashi Yuzuru woke up in an afterlife world after his death. He, however, lost his memories and doesn't realize that he was dead until he met a girl named Yuri, who was fighting against a girl, called Tenshi (angel) with her rifle. Not believing in Yuri, Otonashi ran and approach Tenshi, asking her a question, but he got stabbed in his heart in reply. When he woke up, he found out the world that he was in, which acts like a purgatory for teenagers who was lingered by some conflict in their heart when they was alive, as in dissatisfaction, regrets and such. Taken by their feeling, those teenagers fight against the God, in whom they believed the one that gave them such unfair life in a group called Afterlife Battlefront, led by Yuri. They symbolized Tenshi as the God who they have to fight in order to "stay alive" in the purgatory world. Otonashi joined the battlefront to find his lost memories, and thus, the rebels against God began. But, what await the battlefront was...

Strength:
Amazing original idea, story, developments and plot twists. So far, the story's the best I've ever watched, as it gives a lot of meaning, touching, but don't lose the sense of entertaining with the comedies; therefore, killing boredom while watching, even if it's a slice of life, rather, the slice of life gives a lot of impression on the audience (as in the unique past of the battlefront members, although not all of them are told). Nice theme song, inside, opening and ending. The timing of the song is good, as it helped to create touching scene, not to mention that there's various song in the anime, enhancing the story even more. Great artwork (especially the background and the graphics) and animation (smoothness, battle depiction: good). The way the anime is packed in only 13 episodes even there's so many things untold is good, the ending gives enough satisfaction and curiosity to the audience.

Weakness:
Story: not all of the battlefront members' past are revealed, giving curiosity and maybe dissatisfaction to some particular audience.

Otonashi, welcome to the Afterlife Battlefront. The time Otonashi joined the battlefront after being crushed up by Noda. By the way, at Yuri's right is Iwasawa, the leader of Girls Dead Monster band.

First encounter with Tenshi AKA Tachibana Kanade at the night Otonashi appeared in the afterlife world. At first sight, she seemed like an emotionless doll, but later she began to reveal her feelings. She stabbed Otonashi not long after this.

That's right. All of them are stupid, that's why Takeyama was recruited. This is the battlefront's headquarter where Yuri always announce the next operation to be done. The screen at Yuri's back is cool, I wonder where they got such sophisticated technology. This part of anime is always interesting, when Yuri announce the operation.

Personally, overall, I think this is the best anime I've ever watched. I highly recommended this anime as one in the list of must-watch-anime !!

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan has been adapted from the original anime to many media like manga, light novel, video-games, and the movie. This is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann the movie Gurren-hen, the first part of the movie that compiles all of the act in the first arc + some additional scenes and alterations.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for NDS, adding some new scenes to the original story in the anime.

Synopsis
In the future, humans are forced to live underground, in a subterranean civilization, isolated from other human and the surface. They live in a colony with the village system. In a village named Giha, lived a boy named Simon. He is an ostracized digger that has the task to dig underground in order to expand the village and anticipate the frequent earthquakes. One day, during his digging session, he found a small glowing drill. He kept that drill with him from that time and he was recruited at that time into the Gurren Brigade lead by an orphan fellow named Kamina, whose dream is to break through to the surface, following his father's path. After their first attempt to break the roof to the surface failed, Kamina was jailed. However, Simon continue his digging session illegally during night, just to find another weird thing, this time, a big robotic face. When he tried to tell his discovery to Kamina, he was captured by the elders and before their punishment is given, a huge mecha break through the roof and fall on the village. Apparently it was a Ganmen, mechas that terrors human in surface world. Following that, a woman with rifle descended to the village, fighting against the Ganmen. She was Yoko, who came from neighboring village. As their power wasn't enough to stop the Ganmen, Simon finally decided to use his discovery. It worked, the head turned to a mecha by inserting the core drill. Together with Yoko & Kamina, they crushed the Ganmen and ascend gloriously to the surface. But what awaits them on the surface ?

Strength:
Unique character design (get the best character design award). Nice original idea, well developed into a good story with many plot twists and suspense. The action here is of a grand, huge scale. Every battle is so epic, and the level of the battle rise along with the story progress (it's on the galaxy scale at the end, wow). The battle depiction and the suspense are very well made, supported by some cool music theme that built the heat of the battle. Mecha designs are unique, flexible and cool. The use of battleships built even more heat in wars. The main protagonists' character are well-developed.

Weakness:
Episodes 4's total failure. Its artwork is so lame and the animation sucks (I don't know why, it seems like another studio/ staff taking over the task...).

Simon the driller found the core drill while digging. This was the beginning of his fate as a mankind's warrior who will fight to give human freedom.

The Dai-Gurren troops. In the middle is the big battleship Dai-Gurren (formerly Dai-Ganzan), stolen from enemy and then modified. The other mechas were Ganmen taken over by human from the beastmen. This is the grand battle against the capital city Teppelin. One of the best war scene in the anime.

The battle against Viral in the hot spring. Simon and friends were being trapped by hot spring Ganmen and forced to battle enemy's Ganmen. This is one heck of a scene, because, all of them are naked, except Rosshiu at the left and Leeron, the guy at the back. Even Viral gave them time to wear some clothes and called them the naked apes. (Note: At the end of the battle, Yoko's bra went off, because she still wore the hot-spring suit...)

One of the best anime I've ever seen. In terms of action, I say this is the best I've ever watch. For your consideration, this anime won 7th annual Tokyo's Anime Award in 2008. Also, Excellence Prize 2007 at Japan Media Arts Festival and Personal Best for its director. I highly recommend this anime as a must-watch.

Out of expectation, Yoshii Akira got 2 votes (yeah, you go, onee-chan!!), but there's still a big gap between the competitors. Shouko has proven her position in the A class is not a bluff ! Congrats, Kirishima Shouko !

After Story characters from other world, a world that has ended (they're also there since the first season), a girl and a robot made of junk. Can't tell who they really are, because it's going to be a major spoiler (sorry).

Clannad is originally a visual novel developed by Key. It was later ported to many platforms besides PC, like PS2, XBox, etc. Some other media like Manga and Light Novels are also published under license. The visual novel and the animated adaptations including the two TV series and film have received high sales figures in Japan. Across the national ranking of bishojo games in amount sold in Japan, the Clannad limited edition PC release premiered at number one twice since its release, and the third ranking brought the PC release down to forty-six out of fifty. Out of eight DVDs released for the first Clannad anime TV series, six were ranked first during their first week of sales for anime DVDs in Japan. Out of eight DVDs released for Clannad After Story, seven were ranked first during their first week of sales. The special edition film DVD first ranked at number three during its first week of sales.

Synopsis First season
In a city named Hikarizaka, lived a high-schooler named Okazaki Tomoya. He was a lazy, delinquent bum who hated the city and his school life. One day, on his way to school, he met a girl standing in the path full of sakura trees. That girl was Furukawa Nagisa, who repeated her school year once because of her weak body. They turned out to enroll in the same school. After their encounter, their life changes. Okazaki helped Nagisa, who dreamed to act a play, to revive the theater club which was suspended a year ago. It wasn't easy at all, but both of them began to make friends with some people and passed their school life more happily than before. How will Nagisa realized her dream and how Okazaki began to enjoy his life ? The curtain just lifted...

After Story
Okazaki, Nagisa and the others began their senior year in Hikarizaka High. The story began with some fun all of them have in playing baseball. But, it isn't going for long, because they will be choosing their path of future. The story continued with many of the characters' past and story included. At the end, all of them graduate except Nagisa, who fell sick in the middle of her senior year and must repeat once again. Okazaki began his new life by working in Furukawa's bakery, then he moved to rented house and got a new job in electric installation company. Soon after Nagisa's graduation, Okazaki, who had realized his feeling for her, requested for their marriage. What are their life going to be ? How Okazaki had to face every heart-shredding obstacles in his later life ?

Strength:
Overall: Nice character designs, enhanced by the flawless artwork of the anime (Salute to the anime studio, because of the flawless artwork of such hard-style design (the eye placement)). Very touching story developed very well before every finale, with the fun and interesting slice of life and comedies included, killing boredom while watching it. The first development made the finale's even more tears-shedding (slow-development technique, used especially in Fuuko, Kotomi and Nagisa's arc). The unique part is that how the fantasy is used to make such touching story (the use of the fantasy is optimal to make such situations and emotions). Character development's so deep, every characters have their own stories, unique and emotional, making every characters look interesting and unique. The songs and setting used for emotional scene make it better.
First season: Very deep character and story development that created almost perfect finale.
After Story: Comedy used, every characters' detailed story.

Weakness:
Personally, I don't find any emerging weaknesses. Some reviewers said the overuse of Moe factor in the first season and over melodramatic scene.

Screenshots:
1st season

Maybe the first and the last time Okazaki surrounded by so many girls (last harem for him...). They're going on a date and currently in front of the crane game when they saw Fuuko's comeback. After getting her own mean, Fuuko just disappeared, giving them strange feeling.

Fuuko's ecstasy mode. Bubble-like-stars (or starfish) appear and pops near her. At this mode, she is thinking about cute stuff and lost herself in her imagination. Okazaki used this moment to do mischievous things on her.

The main comedian, Sunohara's getting his ass kicked by the strongest heroine, Tomoyo ! Both of them play a good role of enlightening the story with their fights in the first chapters. It's over 100 combo and Sunohara's still alive...man...

After Story

Okazaki and Nagisa promised that they'll always be with each other forever. They even came up with their child's name on this riverbank just in a moment ! But...

The new Hyper Rainbow Bread made by Sanae !! It's glowing so bright and it will be a perfect combination with the special jam ! But, just for your information, no matter how attractive or how shocking Sanae's bread is...it tastes bad. This bread were able to bring a gang of delinquents down in a bite !

Okazaki Ushio, child of Okazaki and Nagisa. Appearance: Nagisa like. Interest: Just the same (Dango). Friend: Fuuko (...). From what I see, she likes mechanical stuff like the choice of her toys.

So far, the most touching anime I've ever watched. I recommend this anime as a must watch !

Kämpfer is originally a series of light novel written by Toshihiko Tsukiji and illustrated by Senmu. A manga adaptation by Yu Tachibana started serialization in the seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive on February 27, 2008.

Synopsis
One morning, Seno Natsuru woke up and found himself being a girl. A stuffed-animal-formed messenger named Harakiri Tiger come alive and explained to him that he was now a Kämpfer, female fighters that were set to face each other and fight according to their bracelet's color. At first, he can't control his transformation, making him transformed into a girl and a boy in mostly unwanted time. After that, he made friends with another Kämpfer and even transfered to his school's female side. The purpose of battling was blur, however he must overcome the enemies that attacked him from time to time. Who is the one behind all of this ? Who is plotting the Kämpfer battle and the messengers ? The shocking truth has yet to come...

Strength:
Nice artwork and character design, supported by the almost-flawless anime artwork. Nice plot twist and idea of gender-bender during certain situations. Detailed character development, especially Shizuku. Some jokes and fan-services will kill some boredom while watching.

Weakness:
The ending in the last episode is very confusing, making the story all this time go to waste. It's somehow unfinished and just too bizarre. The big weakness in the story are the lack of battles, too many slice of life and very bad ending ( I was hoping the story would continue with more battle...)

Seno Natsuru woke up in his first morning as a female Kämpfer. He's just too flat for a boy. Should've done some perverted acts with his "new body", as gender-bender always highlight those kind of reaction. You're so lame, Natsuru!

Mishima Akane, Natsuru's first ally as a Kämpfer. She was using a gun as her weapon. This is the battle scene at the library, fighting against Shizuku for the first time.

Shizuku Sango, empowered mode. During the battle with the white Kämpfer, Natsuru, Akane, Shizuku and Kondo are given power enhancement by the entrail animals messenger. Somehow, their clothes were ripped off and turned to a different attire...

Just for Fun - Look-Alikes in Anime

There's this theory of mangaka, that sometimes an idea, especially regarding the character design is the same as an idea of another mangaka and at the same time, they create look-alike character (Like a meteor, fall into many parts and were received by some people at the same time). This theory can prevent mangaka from the issue of plagiarism, although not all of this theory is correct. This also happen in anime sometimes. Anyway, just enjoy :

I have said this before in Night Wizard Anime review. Really, they just look like each other, especially the face and except the eye and hair color.

Without any doubt, many see Yuri from Angel Beats! looks like Suzumiya Haruhi. I placed the altered version of Yuri in the middle to show more about their similarities. They also similar in the sense of holding the leader position of an organization (SSS and SOS)

I've been thinking about this. Their hairstyle just look alike.

This one too, I think their hairstyle look alike, even the color is almost similar (blue). Both of them specialized in battle.

Somehow, Yuto just looks like another Yuuji. Their names begin with Yu-, their hairstyle look alike, even their expressions! (both of them have flaaaat expression as a main character) Both of them also have a girl wielding a katana, loving and willing to protect them (Shana and Himari). What a coincidence !!

Hairstyle - almost the same - just different in color. Face too.

A bit strange, but play Lee in Tekken using his tuxedo costume, then you will remember Hayate. Their hairstyle and their outfit...

Sejougahara - Shouko - Shizuku. Hairstyle: confirmed (a bit difference in front cut). Hair color: almost the same. Personality: look-alike. I think Senjougahara's hairstyle and hair-color can be found in many anime nowaday...

Hairstyle and hair color almost the same !! Except big-flat chest and personality.

Character Battle Season II

Character Battle is back !! Now with a new face and changes:

1. Change of Name: Character Polling---->Character Battle (it's more cool than before, eh?)

2. Change of Competitors: now it's the female characters only ( I found it useless to put male characters in)

The rules are just the same, the rounds are divided to preliminaries and real rounds.

Preliminaries: Vote for a favorite anime female character from a particular anime. This time, I've chosen 8 animes: Sora no Otoshimono, Bakemonogatari, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, Asu no Yoichi!, Omamori Himari, Seitokai no Ichizon, Angel Beats! and Akikan! There will be just 1 victor from each anime. (If there's equality in votes between 2 characters, there will be additional changes later)

Real Rounds: 8 female characters from 8 different anime (or more than 8 just in case) will battle for popularity in one-on-one battle with elimination system. The one that has fewer votes will automatically eliminated from the Character Battle. 1 victor will emerge and that will be the Queen of Character Battle II.

Akikan! is originally a series of light novel written by Riku Ranjo and illustrated by Hiro Suzuhira. 8 volumes have been released by April 24, 2009 by Shueisha under Super Dash Bunko Label. A manga serialization began on October 28, 2008 in Ultra Jump.

Synopsis

One day Daichi Kakeru, a high school student, stopped by the vending machine to buy melon soda. When he opened the can and drank it at his home, the can suddenly turned to a girl, which appeared right before him, kissing him. The girl was apparently an Akikan, girls that transformed from beverages can. Soon, Daichi found that Akikans were created to participate in the Akikan Elect, a battle tournament that decides which is better, the aluminium can or the steel can. The Akikans must fight each other until the only strongest type of can is left standing, and the the type that lost is eliminated from the market. The melon soda girl was apparently a steel can and Daichi named her Melon. At first, Daichi didn't allow Melon to fight in Akikan Elect, but the situations won't let them to just stay the way they are, as more and more Akikan appeared before them. Who will be the winner of the Akikan Elect ?

Strength:

Nice character design (the color, appearance, chemistry and all), the main idea of the story is as fresh as the cold drinks (can turns into a girl), supported by the plot twist and love complication in the story. The main character (Daichi) help to lift up the story because of his over self-confidence speeches and his pervert side, making the comedy more enjoyable along the way. The character development is quite good (but I was hoping more Akikan will show up...)

Weakness:

There are just too many flaws in the drawing in the anime, wasting the good character design (especially the eyes, sometimes they are too rectangular, sometimes not in the right place so the eye contact messed up, changing of character faces, proportion, etc). Some things are just way impossible, making the anime looked a bit lame (Najimi who gets drunk with only drinking carbonated drinks). There are no good theme song and the animation doesn't show the display of 2009 (passive animation although the battles and movements are needed in the anime).

Daichi Kakeru, drinking the melon soda from the can (it's the Akikan) with a straw, preventing direct kiss with Melon. It's useless though. Unless he drinks it directly from the hole of the can, the can won't turn to a girl, in this case Melon. Aww, just drink it directly you fool, the kiss tastes like melon soda, there's no reason to refuse !

Akikan Elect requires the Akikan with different type of material to fight each other. One of the most interesting battle taken place in the baseball field. It's Melon vs Yell. Both of them went all out to eliminate each other.

Najimi, who owned Yell, a sports drink Akikan, who is standing in her right. Yell, who transformed from a sports drink can, is absolutely athletic and even do very well in her first sport session in school.

Asu no Yoichi! is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Yu Minamoto. It was serialized in Monthly Shonen Champion, beginning in October 2006.

Synopsis
Karasuma Yoichi had trained for martial arts for 17 years under his father in the mountain. As his father had nothing left to teach him, one day, his father ordered him to go to the city for the purpose of training. He was ordered to stay in the Ukiha Divine Wind Style Swordplay dojo owned by the Ikaruga family, fellow to the Karasuma family that possessed the same Swordplay Style. Then, Yoichi began to "freeload" at the Ikaruga house. There, he met with the 4 sisters of Ikaruga, whose parent had left them for sake of training. Yoichi found his life in Ikaruga house in the middle of the city hectic. Everyday was filled with outrageous events that happened between him and the Ikaruga sisters, also with a school delinquent and another martial-artists. Will Yoichi be able to polish his skill in this chaotic life ? The harem and fun begins !!

Strength:
Have to admit, I love the character design, especially the Ikaruga sisters, they have "chemistry" of anime characters, each with their own beauty and interesting personalities, well developed in addition. The comedy entertains the watcher through the entire anime, adding "spice" along with battle scenes aside from the romance and harem, the main theme of the anime. The story packed with entertaining elements and plot twists make this anime enjoyable, not boring at all.

Weakness:
Some flaws in drawing, so a character may sometimes look different from his/her first appearance (except Torigaya, who changed as the anime goes on). The battle scene is kinda short and out of the level of martial art theme anime (If only the battle scenes were improved and the girls' actions were increased, this anime will be really good).

Ibuki Ikaruga, the eldest out of the 4 Ikaruga sisters, also the most popular out of them, in swimsuit in the beach holiday episode. She is even scary while in that swimsuit, beating Yoichi with that wooden sword. By the way, the shivering girl on her left is Ayame.

Yeah !! No way your life is complete(You will never be with Ibuki, how sad...)! One of Washizu's imagination. You'll find him spacing out most of the times in the anime, thinking about Ibuki with the "Washizu's Vision". He's one main comedian in this anime which really plays a great role in making the audience entertained.

C'mon samurai, say "aaahh". Ayame Ikaruga, shove in the food to Yoichi's mouth, because his hands tire out because of 1000 push-ups with Washizu. Ayame, trying to approach the samurai and build a love relationship, although she treats him harsh most of the times.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is originally a series of Light Novel written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Yui Haga. The first novel in the series was released on January 29, 2007, and as of December 26, 2009, a total of nine volumes, including volume 3.5 and volume 6.5, have been published by Enterbrain under their Famitsu Bunko publishing imprint. A manga adaptation by Mosuke Mattaku started serialization in the manga magazine Shonen Ace on April 25, 2009.

Synopsis
The story revolves around Akihisa Yoshii, an idiot called by name "Baka". He entered Fumizuki Academy, which divides students strictly according to their test-scores, goes from the highest to the lowest: class A to F. On the day of the placement test, his friend, a smart girl named Mizuki Himeji got a fever while doing the test, resulting in her zero score. Consequently, she was assigned to the worst class, the F class. Akihisa was assigned to the F class too. Akihisa, who felt pity toward the genius Himeji that deserved the A class, decided to declare the ESB (Exam Summoning Battle), the school rule that allows battle between summoned beings (beings created by the students and usable only in school area) in order to snatch another class' facilities/ exchange facilities. Then, class F began to blast through their way to get the final target, the A class. Will they be able to made it with a class full of idiots, yet "special" students?

Strength:
Honestly, this anime's comedy is of no match to the other's. I think the only rival is Hayate no Gotoku season 1. So far, this is the funniest anime I've ever watched (score 100 for its comedy!!)!! The idea of the school system and the plot(tactics especially) is amazing (The ESB, the class division and so on), making the story really enjoyable. Nice character development and also character artwork (no flaw in drawing, various way of drawing a character). The animation is also very good.

Weakness:
There's no good theme song.

In the middle of the heat of ESB, Akihisa revealed his secret, that is....he is left-handed. Then, he got beaten up. One of the most funny comedy scene in the anime.

Black transaction happened between Mutsurini and Akihisa. I don't know why they would value their life and money just for Hideyoshi's photos (Hideyoshi is a guy ya know, if he's not lying...). Mutsurini's left eye turn to the left eye of Lelouch from Code Geass. I like the copyright-violation joke!!

Akihisa found a good way to keep his stomach filled with limited budget. That is, dividing the instant noodle into two, every time he ate, resulting in infinity pieces of instant noodle. Admitting that he found this theory and was this generation's Einstein, one day he said that he ate 1/67 of the instant noodle (How could multiplies of 2 result in 67???!!!! It's 64 you idiot!!).

The Exam Summoning Battle screen. It's battle between class E (represented by 2 no eyes boys with their E beings) and class F(represented by Mizuki Himeji with her knight-like being), you can see that the HP and the attack power is based on the scores of the test you have taken. I like this status screen, seems sophisticated. Modern day anime....

Himeji's summoned being, adult version(caused by server chaos in Fumizuki). By the way, Shouko pierced Yuuji's eyes and the reason is written there. That's my favorite character in this anime. Her appearance, although being changed a bit reminds me of a character from Darkstalkers series (guess who? clue: she's up in the Otaku CC main header screen).

Omamori Himari is originally adapted from Manga with the same title written by Matra Milan. It is serialized in Fujimi Shobo's manga magazine, Monthly Dragon Age. The Tankobons are also out.

Synopsis
Seven years ago, Yuto Amakawa's parents died in a car accident, leaving him alone without any single relative. The only thing left in his hand is an Omamori (protective charm) given by his grandparents. Since then, Rinko Kuzaki, his childhood friend, has taken care of him by waking him up every morning and cook for him. In the day Yuto turned into 16, he met a cat spirit samurai girl demon huntress when he walked to school. Yuto turned out to be a descendant of a famous demon-hunter clan, the Amakawa family and the cat samurai, introduced herself as Himari, sworn to be his loyal bodyguard, protecting him from the assaults of Ayakashi (the demons). The only problem is, Yuto's allergic to cat. It turned out to be severe alllergic reaction whenever Himari reveals her cat ears. What will happen to Yuto next? The world he will be living in is just totally different from what he had until now as the power of the protective charm he wears diminish as the time goes on...

Strength:
Nice character design, especially Himari in the Light-Ferry-enchanted form in the last episode. The fan service is the "main weapon" for this anime, all of them are packed well and really entertain the audience along with the comedies. Nice battle depiction, especially at the beginning of the story.

Weakness:
Flaws in drawing, mainly the side-view of the characters. Near the end part, the story's kinda boring and the "acting" of the characters seems to be awkward, not to mention, the battle become really "flat". Incessant fan services sometimes ruin the plot. The main character is so lame in term of he is not expressive (as flat as that Sakai Yuuji...), making the fan services don't appear in maximum impact. There's no really nice theme song.

Screenshots:

Himari stab through an Ayakashi that control Yuto's friend and tried to attack him. This battle is cool for the first impression of the anime.

Himari injured herself in order to wipe out Shizuku's (the water demon) whirlpool (Yuto, die you for being so useless !). The idea of mixing blood with water to make Shizuku lost control of the water is one good idea in term of battle tactics and depiction. Not to mention, there's tentacle scene in this episode....

Hmmm, okay. You can find this scene a lot during the first episodes. As you can see, Yuto's allergic to cat, but Himari insists on sleeping in the same bad (Actually, throughout all of the episodes, Himari looks like she wants to copulate with him badly...), what a waste you are, damn Yuto...

Seitokai no Ichizon is originally a series of light novel written by Sekina Aoi, with illustrator Kira Inugami, published by Fujimi Shobo. 2 series of Manga is also out, Seitokai no Ichizon Nya and Seitokai no Ichizon Petit.

Synopsis
Hekiyou Academy's student councils are selected by popularity among students. 4 girls are chosen to be the student council and Sakurano Kurimu is chosen as the president. The only boy is Ken Sugisaki, who got a special blue chip seat as one who ranked first in academic aspect. The story revolves around the student council activity, mainly meeting (or not...) in the student council room. Ken Sugisaki, who is a maniac of H-games, stated that he aimed for Harem when he first entered the student council. But, Sakurano Kurimu who's too childish, Chizuru Akaba who gives fear, Mafuyu Shiina who can't live without game and Minatsu Shiina who loves "BATTLE" made Sugisaki's life in the student council become outrageous...

Strength:
The comedies are really entertaining (especially the copyright-violating comedies). Without this, the anime will be really boring. Character development is good, every character has equal opportunity to be given the personality and every of them is packed well to be an interesting character. Artwork and animation are good.

Weakness:
May be boring in some parts of the anime, because of the long dialogues.

Ken Sugisaki's dream, the harem path. He proposed this idea when he was ordered by the prez to write a novel to promote the student council. Besides his wild ideas, the others' ideas are just as ridiculous as his ideas. It ends up with no novel to promote the student council. Seriously, this episode made me laugh.

One of my favorite scene, the copyright-violating joke. Ken Sugisaki turned into S**umiya and declared that he has no interest in normal human. Very "dangerous scene" indeed.

The pose of the student council when they have ended their day. In episode 1 they did this together, but in later episodes, no more....become separated....:(

Bakemonogatari is originally a series of light novels written by Nisio Isin. The illustration is drawn by Vofan, Taiwanese illustrator. It was published by Kodansha.

Synopsis
Araragi Koyomi, a third year high school student recently survived an attack from vampire. Somehow, after that he kept on finding oddities such as gods, spirits, and ghosts around him. The story began when his classmate, Senjougahara Hitagi fall of the stairs. She caught and saved Hitagi, but felt that her body was weightless. Soon, he found out that Hitagi was possessed by an oddity. When Hitagi tried to silence him from telling her secret of being weightless, he offered her a help from Oshino Meme, a specialist who saved his life back then. Out of expectation, Hitagi accept his offer and the story begins...
In this series of events, Koyomi found himself encountering many new heroines, with everyone's stories packed into a series of episodes with one title, those episodes are divided into:
1. Hitagi Crab (2 parts)
2. Mayoi Snail (3 parts)
3. Suruga Monkey (3 parts)
4. Nadeko Snake (2 parts)
5. Tsubasa Cat (5 parts)
With one new heroine appearance in each arc.

Strength:
Very unique background and world outline, which can create odd nuances throughout the stories, such as fragmented real picture mixed with anime picture. Dialogues, jokes and sarcasm really have deep meaning that enhance the story well. Animation are good, especially with the fragmented picture. Nice ending theme which match with episode 12. Characters are developed very well, their personality is depicted with a lot of details.

Weakness:
May be very boring in some parts, like the Mayoi Snail (well, this anime is based on dialogues anyway), so those who long for action and some adrenaline-activating scene can't find it here.
The synopsis pages in the first part of the anime change up too fast, it needs some pausing and even rewind.

Okay, the famous "warning scene", which I assume more like "life threatening". Hitagi opened Koyomi's mouth with a cutter, then insert a staple between his cheek and inside. Warning: she stapled his mouth once. However, Koyomi still offered a help (man, are you fearless? don't think you can handle anything just because you are a vampire !)

Oshino Meme, the oddity specialist. Some might think that his last name is somewhat moe, but he is a GUY in fact...anyway, he's one of the key character that always help Koyomi dealing with the oddities. His "western" theme song is somewhat cool and match his personality.

Hanekawa Tsubasa, cat version. Can't believe that she turned to be a totally different person at first. Personification of Hanekawa's stress. First time appeared during the Golden Week.

Sora no Otoshimono manga volume 1, author: Suu Minazuki, published by Kadokawa Shoten, a little bit different to the anime in the sense of some addition like another type epsilon angeloid.

Synopsis:
Tomoki Sakurai who lived in Sorami city really adores peace and ordinary, normal life. But his peaceful life ended when he met with Sugata Eishirou, the chairman of "New World" club, who has an ambition to find a new world. Then, Tomoki went out to observe a black circular flux in the sky that stopped in Sorami that night. There, a strange object fall down like a meteor that almost killed Tomoki. In the crater made by the meteor, he found a girl with wings on her back, unconcious. He ignored her and went away when a rain of debris striked the area. He returned to save the girl, but a debris suddenly fall on him. That's when the girl spread her wings, flew to the sky, rescuing Tomoki along with her. She introduced herself as Pet Class Angeloid type alpha, Ikaros. She can grant any wish with her magical cards and call Tomoki "My Master". That's really the end of Tomoki's flat life, as he use Ikaros' cards to conquer the world and more angeloids were sent from the Heaven to retrieve Ikaros back. Chaotic life began !!

Strength:
Nicely done artwork with almost no flaw in drawing and great background, especially the realistic-looking machinery. Comedy that colored the anime all way long, makes it fun to watch. Great animation, especially the last battle when Ikaros used Uranus Queen Mode. Story and unique characters that sweep away boredom and last, the fan service (hmhmhm....).

Weakness:
Ending theme songs are always somewhat bad, although the animation keep on changing.

Story :
Year 20XX , Arisu Reiji and Xiaomu , Special Agents of Shinra , are tasked to investigate spirits and otherworldly disturbances . Apparently , they are investigating the 'sleeping sickness' that occured in Shibuya , Tokyo , Japan . As time passed , the scale of the disturbances become larger and they found some dimentional distortion and more appearance of monsters in Shibuya . One time , when they're fighting those monsters , they met with some people coming from another world . Gameplay :
The gameplay is a combination of action RPG and strategy (turn-based) RPG . Characters move along the field with the AP systems , which decide their turn ( similar to CT system in FF Tactics ) . Characters movement range are measured by square grids (like any other tactic-RPG game) . The battle comence when the character reach their attack range . Battle system turns into action based , with branches , indicating how many times the character can attack . The attack form is combination attack with different type of movement . From battle , characters will gain experience and items . Other bonuses turn into extra experience . There are other commands like Defense , to reduce enemies' attack and gain AP , and Multiple Assault , combination attack created by a couple to several characters .
The game contains 50 stages , 5 prologs , 45 normal . All in strategic , turn-based , action-based battle .

Strength : Great , maybe the biggest (characters) crossover game ever . So many characters with many backgrounds , each with their own conflicts and personalities . Nicely done artwork for the characters , they are succeeded to be once again 'Revived' in this game . A lot of music , one theme for each or a couple of character . Great way of putting a bunch of characters become playable , using strategic-based gameplay . The battle itself is not monotone , with each characters own 5 moves and a special , also a multiple assault . Nicely done character sprites .

Weakness : Not translated to English , but some fans translate it and create the US version by themselves and that cause some grammatical errors and display errors in the text box . Some text or name in Katakana also not modified into the real English pronunciation .

Allen Walker from D-Grayman and Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist ! Both of them still on a very young age of about 14 to 15 (maybe ? I'm not sure...) , however , no one doubt their abilities , either combat , intelligence or any other unique ability . Both of them are midgets ( HAHAHA...) , but Allen is 3 cm taller than Elric (actually , Elric is with his antenna , so substract his height with his antenna height ) !? (That's a new fact , Jack !!) Kay' , onto the battle alright !!

Allen Walker : 3 cm taller than Elric , which means mental pressure to Elric .
Weapon : Innocence , parasitic type , Demon Hand and Demon left eye . Recently , his innocence has reached the next level and able to transform into Royal Clown Mode , which was very strong to fight against the Demons .
Special : The Demon Hand at its full release ( The size is about half of a mountain , wow!!) and Clown Belt .
Ability : Physical strength that helped him survive even when he was almost dead , monster appetite , gambling with cards (especially poker )

Soul Link is adapted from a visual nove eroge with the same name made by NAVEL . It's about a group of military cadets' adventure aboard a space hotel named Aries . Released in December 17, 2004 . A PS2 game with the name Soul Link Extension was also released in June 29 , 2006 .

Synopsis

Ryota Aizawa and Sayaka Nagase were military cadets that began their training in space in a space station hotel Aries . As soon as they arrived , they underwent their training immediately . But later , only in a short span of time , a conspiracy were on the progress . Aries were attacked by a terrorist group named Harallax , that also carried nukes in their spaceship . All of the civilians are evacuated , however , all of the military people who didn't got a chance to escape were captured by Harallax . Some of the cadets , including Ryota and Sayaka , were also trapped in Aries . They form a group consist of several people including a mercenary , Yuu , whose idetities remained unrevealed until late story . Then , this group formulate a lot of tactics to buy time from the Harallax , as they can't escape to the surface ( the Earth) , also knowing their power is nothing to fight a bunch of armed terrorist . Their tactics bought them a lot of time , however , once again , a conspiracy was plotted by someone , turning the terrorist into an unexpected condition . Ryota and the others must fight against betrayal , loss of beloved one , never-ending conspiracy and a mutated form of living things , the Skylla...

Strength : Nicely done artwork & character design . Tactical plots that made a thriller sensation when watching . Unexpected /unpredictable plots that enfolds in every part of the story . Meaningful drama that depicts slices of life , contained a lot of moral message .

Weakness : Bad animation that create some pauses or unneeded animation in particular parts , also made the action looking so lame . Some acts of the character that seemed odd and not in their place , make the plot contained a lot of defects , these acts also waste a lot of time span and also made the story become boring and flat . Too many dialogues and slice of life may cause boredom to the audience . Some flaw in artwork in some parts . The role of the main character is blur and so little , and doesn't fit the requirement for the main character , which can made a confusion in distinguishing who is the main character . The character chosen for the main character , Ryota , also can't play his role well and isn't suited for the position .

A loss-making Japanese rail company has found the perfect mascot to bring back business - Tama the tortoiseshell cat.
All the nine-year-old cat does is sit by the entrance of Kishi station in a railway uniform cap and pose for photos for the tourists. Tama has done such a good job of raising revenue for the Kishikawa train line that she was recently promoted to “super-station-master”.
The Wakayama Electric Railway Co said: “She is the perfect station master. She never complains, even though passengers touch her all over. She has patience and charisma.”
Appointing a cat to turn around fortunes makes cultural sense in Japan, where cats are believed to bring in business. People are snatching up postcards, notebooks and badges decorated with Tama's picture. There is even a 1,365 Yen (￡6.65) book of photographs called Diary of Tama, the Station Master.

Night Wizard The Animation is an adaptation from a Japanese urban sorcery action RPG with the same name released in 2002 .

Synopsis

Night Wizard , a term given for those whose mission is to protect the world from creeping darkness . They fight against the Emulator (demons) and their kinds using an artifact or 'brrom' , a form of weapon owned by the Wizards and once saved the world from desturction . Hiiragi Renji , a highschool teenager , is one of them . He was called 'The Falling Man' because he kept on repeating class ,skipping school and can't graduate on time because of stacks of mission given by the Night Wizard organization leader , Anzelotte . One day , a female student named Shiho Eris were transferred to his school located in Akihabara . Hiiragi's best friend , Akabane Kureha immediately asked her to join the astronomy club . From this club , Hiiragi , Eris and Kureha got to know each other well . Later , it was revealed that Eris possessed an artifact called Ain Soph Aur , that was able to keep 'Seven Jewels of Virtue ' , items that have an incredible magic power .
The existence of the jewels and the artifact possessed by Eris attracted a lot of demons . Therefore , Hiiragi , Kureha (that was apparently one of the wizards) and the other wizards were given mission to protect her 24 hours a day . Many battle enfolded between the wizards and the emulator and the demon lord's army , to collect the jewel , for the purpose of protecting the world or conquering the world . Eris and the others start their journey in many places to collect the seven jewels in order to save the world from the evil plan of the demon lord . Many of characters that were included in the Wizard alliances are revealed later as they join forces to fight the evils . The outcome later is unpredictable as an inconvenient truth of Shiho Eris and the jewels are revealed , as many battle keep on rolling between the wizards and the demons ...

Strength : Nicely done artwork , nice character design ( that reminded the audiences of somebody else from other anime...) , cool machine and weaponry and neat background . Unexpected plot that happened at the end of the anime cause a great pulse in the story beat , moving it from happy to thousand of conflicts . Comedy that wandered around the story , especially at the boring time of slice of life , enlighten the audiences .

Weakness : Some slice of life and flat storyline may be boring to the audiences . The plot were so monotone in the beginning and also very predictable . The collecting of the jewels story seems so easy with this plot .Although the genre is action , the battle depiction is too short and only some kind of one hit one kill using specials or monotone slashing .

Masane Amaha , transformed with the Witchblade , controlled by bloodthirst and desire to fight .

Synopsis
25-Years Old Masane Amaha with her "daughter" , Rihoko , moved to Tokyo to live there and start a new life . Apparently , Masane was one of the survivors of a catastrophe that occured in Tokyo 6 years ago ( the time span in anime) , which the spot was called the 'Null Point ' . She also lost all of her past memories , but she gained a new identity made from maternity passbook , which she was carrying at the time of the catastrophe , along with her newborn "daughter" , Rihoko . Later , it was revealed that Masane survived because of Witchblade , an ultimate weapon that existed since a long time ago , which chose it's own wielder . Those who wield Witchblade would carried an unavoidable fate of battling many enemies . The wielder of the Witchblade could transform into a battle form , equipped with long blades and armor . Apparently , Witchblade was one of the properties owned by a big weapon company called 'Dohji' , but it was lost in the catastrophe 6 years ago . Therefore , Masane was forced to work there as the company found out that she wielded the Witchblade . After went through many complications between her , Rihoko and NSWF ( an organization made to protect and accommodate children , especially the orphans ) , she decided to work in Dohji to earn money for living with Rihoko . The work was to eliminate X-Cons , failed product of Dohji , shaped like machine but able to transform into human , with killing abilities . After that , many battle enfolded between Masane and the X-Cons , also with the NSWF's Neogene , mutated females that have abilities similar to Witchblade and also fight against the conspiracy plotted inside the Dohji Corp itself and the NSWF . Story continued with many conflicts , until Masane awakened the true power of Witchblade and the unexpected truths were revealed...

Strength : Complex story & plot , unexpected flow of story that lead to unexpected ending . The depiction of life shown contained a lot of moral messages and the values of life (especially relations between parents , mother and child ). Neat artwork of background , mechas and characters (starting from the mid-part, though).

Weakness : Too many slice of life , that some people might get boring while watching the anime . Very short span of time for the battles , also with only monotone slashing . Overall , this anime that has action genre doesn't fullfill the criteria of action , because the actions are almost zero .
Flaws on artwork on the first part of the anime , it was so lame in the beginning .

See that ? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (President of Iran) resembles Ikari Gendou (Neon Genesis Evangelion) or vice versa . I'm just curious , which one came first , Ahmadinejad or Gendou ,lol .
Anyway , both of them are impressive man . Ahmadinejad who striked back U.S.' warning about building of nuclear facility in Iran by giving intimidation . When I read news based on update on the situation there , it felt so interesting , like reading newspaper in a time of war . Both sides counter-attacked each other warning , so heat is building up in this cold war and the main actor is of course , Ahmadinejad , a brave or too brave maybe , warrior of Iran . I don't know much about Gendou , but he said some good words back then .
"Prophesy has led us this far , but it's time for mankind to write on his own ."-Gendou Ikari .
This mean that men should not believe in prediction or give up in Revelation , instead , they should decide their own fate with their own hand , to be free from 'restraints' or to be restrained forever . Admin : The EVA suit suits her perfect , and she also has the same personality as Rei , the real EVA-suit owner , which is silence . Yeah , yeah , I know one quote about silence : Silence is essence of life , silence is gold . Although Rei and Yuki have nearly same personality , the one I doubt here is whether Rei is smart or as smart as Yuki ? (I don't think Rei's smart , though , correct me if I'm wrong .) Yosyahh!! Hinagiku Rockz!!! On to the topic here , all of you who watch her appearance on Hayate no Gotoku , I, the Admin , want to conduct a survey here . If you like her , give the reasons why you like her , but if you not , give also the reasons .
Admin : Of course I like her , she's my favorite character in Hayate no Gotoku , although I know him before watching the anime by seeing T*ny's artwork . The reason why :
1. I like smart girl who has a lot of knowledge .
2. Smart , but not silent .
3. Expert in battle and sport , kendo in this case .
4 . Seems like perfectionist , but she also has weakness : height , that makes her looks cute!!
Admin's Recommendation : In case you have a chance to date her ( Just Imagine) , bring her to high places , and she will hug you all day along (Oh , wow!!!) , but I don't think something like this apply in real world , kekekeh.

Reportase langsung dari negara Otaku ! Buat para Otaku yang pengen tahu Osaka itu kayak apa , beginilah Osaka . Tempat ini terletak di belakang salah satu jalan terkenal di Osaka , Doutonburi Street (Otaku pasti tahu makanan khas Osaka , kepiting Doutonburi , sebenarnya makanan luks yang harganya mencapai sekitar 1 juta kalau diRupiahkan per ekornya , cing!) ,sekedar directory , depan sana , itu Shinsaibashi-Suji ,tempat shopping sepanjang jalan , dengan barang bervariasi , sebagian besar fashion , kosmetik , tapi juga ada toko buku , elektronik , sampe yang jualan baju maid atau bunny girl . Fashion para shopper mirip , tapi nggak seradikal di Harajuku . Di sebelah kanan , kalau belok , sepanjang jalan dipenuhi tempat-tempat yang nggak beres (night club , klub yaoi , dsb,dsb ,ya lu taulah) , bahkan ada klub yang memasang papan Lucky Star ( menurut dugaan , klub loli nih..., sayang gw ga sempet baca) . Daerah sekitarnya dikelilingi sungai , kalau malam gelap dan jalannya kecil-kecil . Orang kantoran suka makan dan ngeceng di tempat-tempat seperti restoran dan klub malam di daerah ini . Viva Osaka!!!

Admin choice : Shana . Reason : Louise is a pure Tsundere unlike Shana , however , her arrogancy irritates me , no Moe characteristic and weaker(?) than Shana !! You can see this by comparing each others' ability . As far as I know , Louise is able to use powerful void magic , but only in a certain circumstances , whereas Shana is a trained warrior who is ready to fight anytime . Now , the second question will come , base on each others' affection-based ability , which one will win : Louise's void magic in affiliation with Saito or Shana's ability in affiliation with Yuuji's power of existence ??
